Bodenständig 2000
Bodenständig 2000 was a German Elektropop-/Chiptune-/Bitpop-Gruppe, which was founded in 1995 by Dragan Espenschieds and Bernhard Kirsch. The musicians describe themselves as " pioneers of the home computer Volxmusik " .
Band History
In 1999, she released her debut album Maxi German Rave Blast Hits 3 at Rephlex Records in London. You will hear a mixture of chiptunes, Rave and Dance Euro with German lyrics. The album is completely written in homework on non- professional equipment and home computers with partially self- developed software.
In the course of some smaller publications such as remixes or compilations appeared. In June 2003, the EP hard rocking scientists appeared in Feed The Machine records, Detroit. It contained harder chiptune dance pieces on the one hand and ethnic inspired harmony songs on the B-side.
In between were frequent concerts - in addition to Germany, especially in Belgium, France, the United Kingdom ( here especially London) and the United States. At the invitation of the Goethe Institute, the musicians were able to contest the opening concert of the 2003 version > 3 Festival in Chicago.
In 2004 her piece In Rock 8- bit for the computer animation The Annoying Thing used, which was later marketed worldwide under the name of Crazy Frog.
In July 2006 Bodenständig 2000 notoriety shortly reached worldwide because of their withdrawal from the music portal iTunes, the artists reasoned with basic objections to the restrictive DRM. This action made waves in the blogosphere and was even honored in an article in the International Herald Tribune.
