Bogusław Mamiński

Bogusław Mamiński ( born December 18, 1955 in Kamien Pomorski ) is a former Polish athlete who was especially successful in the obstacle course.

At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow two poles reached the final in the 3,000-meter steeplechase; Bronisław Malinowski won gold, Mamiński occupied in 8:19,5 min seventh. The following year, Mamiński stood as representatives of Europe during the Athletics World Cup. As the winner of the obstacle course, he contributed to the fact that the European men team won the World Cup.

In the finals of the European Championships in 1982 Mamiński defeated in the final sprint to the West German Patriz Ilg. At the award ceremony itself Ilg turned to Mamiński to the second step of the podium, the time allotted for the European Championship level remained free in honor of the fall of 1981 fatalities Malinowski. A year later, in the final of the first World Athletics Championships, had settled on the last lap a group of three from the field. The American Henry Marsh led after the last ditch before Ilg and Mamiński but crashed on the last obstacle and then was only eighth. Ilg, who ran to Marsh added, won the title safe because Mamiński had to dodge the falling Marsh. Mamiński won silver in front of the British Colin Reitz and the Frenchman Joseph Mahmoud.

1984 was marked for all athletes of the Soviet bloc from the Olympic boycott. 14 days after the Olympic final came at the Memorial Van Damme in Brussels at a very fast race. Joseph Mahmoud turned on in 8:07,62 minutes a new European record, Mamiński ran behind in 8:09,18 minutes, the second fastest time of the year and his personal best. In the following years Mamiński could not go on his great form in the early 1980s, his best finish was eighth place at the 1988 Olympic Games in 8:15,97 min.

Mamiński in 1979, 1985, 1992 and 1993 Polish champion in the steeplechase, 1983 and 1987, he won the Polish title in the 5000 -meter run. He is 1.80 m tall, his competition weight was 68 kg.
