Bohdan Ulihrach

Bohdan Ulihrach ( born February 23, 1975 in Kolin, Czechoslovakia at the time ) is a former Czech tennis player.

Life

Ulihrach began at the age of 14 years with the tennis, he played professionally since 1993. His first major title he won in July 1995 in Prague by defeating Javier Sánchez in the final. His second followed three months later in Montevideo; there he defeated Alberto Berasategui.

1996 Ulihrach was part of the Czech team, which took second place in the World Team Cup. 1997 defeated Ulihrach subsequent world number one Pete Sampras during the Indian Wells Masters, but was defeated in the finals by Michael Chang. The highlight of his career is considered reaching number 22 in the world tennis rankings in May 1997. Ulihrach in Umag in 1998 won against Magnus Norman. Both at the Australian Open as well as at the French Open, he reached the second round in 1999.

In May 2003 Ulihrach has been banned for doping for two years. The lock has been lifted a short time later, as he had taken the banned substance nandrolone with an electrolyte drink to himself, which had been given to him by an ATP physiotherapist.

In the 2012 season Ulihrach plays for the Gymnastics Federation of Erlangen in the tennis league ( Mens 30).
