Bold Ruler ( born April 6, 1954 † July 1971 ) was a brown Thoroughbred stallion. It occupies the 19th place on the Blood -Horse magazine List of the Top 100 U.S. Racehorses of the 20th Century.

He was born in 1954 at Claiborne Farm near Paris, Kentucky. He was bred by Wheatley Stable, the racing team of Gladys Mills Phipps and her brother Ogden L. Bold Ruler sire was the stallion Nasrullah, his mother the mare Miss Disco. Coach was Jim Fitzsimmons and he was ridden by jockey Eddie Arcaro mainly. During his career, Bold Ruler was 23 times victorious in 33 starts, scoring a prize money of $ 764,204 at the time unimaginable. 1957, after he such as the Flamingo Stakes was won with a new course record and the famous Preakness Stakes so important races, Bold Ruler was voted Horse of the Year in the U.S. and also received the title of " Champion of the 3 -year-old " and " Champion of Sprinter ".
