Bolesław Filipiak

Bolesław Filipiak Cardinal ( born September 1, 1901 in Osniszczewko, Poland, † October 14, 1978 in Poznań ) was a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Filipiak studied in Poznan and the subjects of Rome Catholic theology and philosophy. He received on 29 May 1926, the sacrament of Holy Orders, and then worked as a parish pastor in the Archdiocese of Gniezno. After further study he was in 1933, Personal Secretary to the Archbishop of Gniezno, Cardinal August Hlond. In the years 1944 to 1945 he sat in German captivity. In 1945 Bolesław Filipiak Kathedralkanoniker and a member of the Diocesan Court in Gniezno. In addition, he was an expert on questions of marriage law in the service of the Holy See. From 1947 he worked at the Rome Court over which he presided as dean from 1967. In 1975, he became president of the appeal court in the Vatican State.

1976 Pope Paul VI appointed him. Titular Bishop of Plestia. The bishop ordained by Cardinal Pericle Felici Bolesław Filipiak. On 24 May 1976, the Pope took him as a cardinal deacon with the title Diakonia San Giovanni Bosco in via tuscolana in the College of Cardinals to. Bolesław Filipiak died on 14 October 1978 in Poznan and was buried in the local cathedral.
