The Great Ustinski Bridge (Russian Большой Устьинский мост ) is an arch bridge of steel in Moscow, which leads below the mouth of the Jausa across the Moscow River and its two quays. Opened in May 1938 bridge is 134 m long and 34 m wide. It replaces a built 1881 arched bridge. In addition to the road bridge over leads a tram line.

Building

The bridge was designed by architects GP Golz (Russian Г. П. Гольц ) and DM Sobolev (Russian Д. М. Соболев ) together with the engineer WM Wachurkin (Russian: В. М. Вахуркин ) designed. The bridge has no visible pillars. The superstructure is formed by six riveted steel sheets, which together weigh 2235 tons.

History

The Built in 1881 by the engineer WN Schpejner first Ustinski bridge was slightly downstream from the present bridge and had two piers on. The bridge was 125 meters long and 19.2 meters wide.

At the beginning of the 20th century, more and more shoals in the Moscow River began to form. The construction of the Moscow - Volga Canal, the water level was raised so strong that the bridges had to be rebuilt over the Moskva River and created the present bridge. The bridge was extensively renovated in the years 1997 to 1999.
