Bongará Province

Bongará is one of seven provinces, which form the Amazon region in the Andes in northern Peru. The provincial capital is Villa de Jumbilla, a village at about 1,935 meters above sea level.

Bongará has about 26 145 inhabitants (as of 2002) and an area of ​​2869.65 km ². Established was the province on December 26, 1870.

Bongará bordered to the north by the province of Condorcanqui and to the region of Loreto, on the east by the San Martín Region on the south, the province of Chachapoyas and on the west by the provinces Luya and Utcubamba.

Waterfalls
