Bongo Massif

The Bongo Massif ( also Bongo mountains or Tondou massif ) lies in north-eastern Central African Republic and extends into the Southern Sudan. The massif forms the watershed of three river systems, the Nile, the river system of the Congo and Scharis in Chad Basin in Central Africa.

The mountain rises the River Lol, which flows via the rivers Bahr al-Arab and Bahr al - Ghazal in the White Nile. Also, the Bahr al-Arab springs from the mountains by mountain Ngaja. The northern and central areas of the Bongo Massif are protected by the National Park established in 1960 André- Félix and its buffer zone, the Yata - Ngaya nature reserve.

The highest peak of the massif, is the 1,330 -meter-high Mont Toussoro. The highest pass is the Col Quijox, 923 meters above sea level, on the highway between the cities RN5 Birao and Bria.
