Books of Adam

Adam books is a loose collective name for a series außerkanonischer writings of the Judeo-Christian tradition, related to Adam and Eve. These include:

  • Adam books in the narrow sense, known as the life of Adam and Eve (Latin versions ) or Apocalypse of Moses ( Greek versions ), a group of content closely related writings that have survived in Greek, Latin, Armenian, Georgian and Slavonic versions.
  • The Christian Adam Book of the East, by August Dillmann from the old Ethiopian translated to German (Göttingen, 1853).
  • The Syrian handed Testament of Adam, by Ernest Renan published and translated into French (Journal asiatique, 1853, II, pp. 427-469 ).
  • The book of the daughters of Adam, in the catalog of the Decretum Gelasianum, probably the Book of Jubilees, also known as Little Genesis.
  • The testament of our first parents, mentioned by Anastasios Sinaites, LXXXIX, col. 967
  • The Gnostic Apocalypse of Adam.
  • The treasure cave.
  • Sidra Rabba, also known as Adam Book of the Mandaeans, is the holy scripture of Mandaeism and particularly the introduction parts of the Left Ginza ( ginza smala ).
