Boom Boom Satellites

Boom Boom Satellites (Japaneseブンブン サテ ライツ, Bun Bun Sateraitsu ) is the name of a Japanese music duo. It consists of Michiyuki Kawashima and Masayuki Nakano and mainly produced pieces that are associated with the Big Beat genre or Nu- Skool Breaks. The duo is currently at Sony Music Entertainment Japan under contract and has issued nearly all the albums from this record label.

Career

The bassist / DJ Masayuki Nakano and guitarist / vocalist Michiyuki Kawashima founded the band Boom Boom Satellites in 1990. Yet the University of visiting, they took the band name from a song by Sigue Sigue Sputnik. Your debut was with the single Dub Me Crazy, which eventually applied in the compilation Abstract Set One by DJ Fumiya Tanaka. DJ Fumiya Tanaka helped the two get into a contract with the Belgian record label R & S Records, which a short time previously had also taken Ken Ishii under contract. So they played in 1997 on a Techno Festival Belgium and performed at major events such as the Glastonbury Festival, Roskilde, SXSW or Fujirock on. They were known quantities such as Fatboy Slim, Underworld (1998) and Moby (1999) on tour.

After the initial distributed praise and success in major magazines like New Musical Express and Melody Maker, Sony Music Entertainment Japan also expressed his interest. So they released in 1999 their first album Out Loud, which promised the breakthrough of the band. Their second album was recorded Umbra critical, but was able to continue the success story. Despite their contract with Sony Music Entertainment Japan, the musicians spent a lot of time from 2000 to 2004 in London. After some smaller lesser known albums was released in March 2005, Full of Elevating Pleasures another successful album, the big concert tour followed across Japan.

2010, the group released their best-of album " OVER AND OVER" across America and goes there in October of the same year on tour.

Style

Your music is a strong influence of jazz reputed and they have been known to use a lot of electric guitars, so that the pieces also have a strong relationship to rock or punk.

You are said to have their music on various influences. So it is by David Bowie, Kraftwerk, Miles Davis and others have been inspired. The sound of their music has been compared in the New Musical Express by The Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers.

Relationship with film productions

In 2004, several of its titles for the music in the anime film Appleseed were used. This was followed in 2007, the anime film Vexille who also took over many of their pieces.

The most recent production is offered exclusively through PlayStation Network Web Anime Bonen no Xam'd. In this the title Shut Up And Exlpode from the sixth album Exposed was used for the bias of the individual consequences.

But in real films their music was used. So the title scatterin 'Monkey from the 1999 album Out Loud was used as background music in the movie The Dark Knight in a fight scene with Salvatore Maroni.
