BornholmerFærgen

BornholmerFærgen is a Danish shipping company that offers connections within Denmark, as well as to and from Bornholm with their ferries.

History

The shipping company was founded in 1866 as Dampskibsselskabet på Bornholm af 1866 ( Dampfschifffahrtsgesellschaft Bornholm from 1866 ). It got its current name in 1973, when the Danish state took over the hitherto private corporation. From 1 May 2005 to 30 September 2010 was the shipping company officially Aktiengesellschaft Bornholmstrafikken A / S. Since November 2007, organized Bornholmstrafikken than 50% shareholder of Nordic Ferry Services A / S (the other half belongs to the Danish Clipper Group A / S) the operation of several formerly belonging to Scandlines inner Danish Fährlinien.Nordic Ferry Services A / S became the first October 2010 renamed DanskeFærgen A / S. At the same time the name Bornholmstrafikken was replaced by BornholmerFærgen.

  • Ystad Ronne ↔; multiple daily operation with conventional ferries and the fast ferries Villum Clausen and Leonora Christina
  • Køge ↔ Ronne; daily operation with conventional ferries ( Abend-/Nachtfahrten )
  • Sassnitz Ronne ↔; Operation from April to October conventional ferries ( in the off season three times a week in high season up to twice a day )

Ferries

  • Leonora Christina ( since 2011): fast ferry; needed just 80 minutes for the distance from Ronne to Ystad.
  • Villum Clausen (since 2000): fast ferry; needed just 75 minutes for the distance of Ronne to Ystad.
  • Hammerodde (since 2005): Ro-Pax ferry; runs on the line Ronne ↔ Køge
  • Povl anchor (since 1978): Ro-Pax ferry; runs on the lines of Ystad and Sassnitz Ronne ↔ ↔ Rønne
