Boso the Elder

Boso of Arles (also called the old Boso; † before 855) was Count of Arles and in Italy.

He is the progenitor of the Bosoniden and enters the annals only because he in an agreement with Emperor Louis the Pious family property near Nijmegen gave up 826 and eintauschte against corresponding property at Vercelli in Italy.

He is also known as the father of King Lothar II of Lotharingia, by a marriage that was, however, closed only when he was already dead.

Boso the old man had (at least) four children:
