Boșorod

Boşorod [ boʃorod ] ( German Bosendorf, Hungarian Bosorod ) is a municipality in the district of Hunedoara in Transylvania, Romania.

The place is also known by its Hungarian name Felkitid.

Geographical location

The municipality is located in the historical region of Hatzeger country ( Tara Hategului ), in the northwestern foothills of the Sureanu Mountains. In the southern half of the circle at the Hunedoara county road (drum Judetean ) DJ 668A, the place is located about 12 kilometers southeast of the nearest town Călan ( Klandorf ); the district capital Deva ( Deva ) is located approximately 32 kilometers north-west. Covering an area of ​​12,677 hectares, the community extends with its nine villages and hamlets in a mountainous region of 308-987 m ü.NHN. At the highest point, is the place Alun (nut village).

History

The part belonging in the Middle Ages the castle Hunedoara place with its vast forest areas in 1377 was first mentioned. Later on the scattered settlements were Luncani ( Wiesdorf ) and Grădiştea de Munter ( Acc Orăştioara de Sus ). However, a settlement of the region ranges - according to findings in the Cioclovina Cave - to the Stone Age. Here is a treasure was found in bronze jewelry objects ( about 2500 years old ).

The main occupation of the population is agriculture, orchards, timber processing and livestock.

Population

In the 1850 census, lived on the territory of the present municipality of 2,550 people. 2,412 of these were Romanians, 74 Hungarians and 64 others ( including 55 Roma). The highest population ( 3,535 ) was achieved in 1910. 2002 2.257 people were still counted, of which 2,253 Romanians and four Hungary. The highest number of Romanians ( 3,352 ) in 1966, that of Hungary ( 104) and the Germans ( 35) 1880 and the counting of the Roma in 1850. In addition, eight designated 1890, 1910 33 and 1966 as a Ukrainian.

Attractions

  • The municipality is the starting point to the nature reserve gradiste - Cioclovina.
  • In the southeast of the village Luncani during archaeological excavations a Dacian fortress was 1949 - Cetatea Jidovilor called - found; is a listed building.
