Boulou Ferré

Boulou Ferré ( born April 24, 1951 in Paris ) is a French jazz guitarist.

Both his father Pierre Matelo Ferret and especially his uncle, Baro Ferret, the influence Boulous first game, played with the Quintette du Hot Club de France with Django Reinhardt and. His other musical and harmonic foundation was laid in a study with Olivier Messiaen.

Boulou made ​​first recordings at the age of 13 years. A record from 1966 with Pierre Michelot, Eddy Louis's and Kenny Clarke is rated by Downbeat 4 stars. Later he played with Dizzy Gillespie, Warne Marsh, Dexter Gordon, Chet Baker and Stéphane Grappelli. In 1970 he took on a multi-faceted duo album with multi-instrumentalist Gunter Hampel. In 1973, he enters with Bob Reid and Glenn Spearman's quintet on Emergency. His Gypsy Orchestra Corporation in 1974 attracted the attention of both Carlos Santana and Frank Zappa.

Since the 1980s, Boulou playing regularly together with his younger brother, guitarist Elios Ferré.
