Bouraq Indonesia Airlines

Bouraq Indonesia Airlines was a private airline that was founded in mid 1970.

History

Bouraq flew from 1970 with three Douglas DC-3 from Jakarta to Banjarmasin, Balikpapan and Surabaya. Aircraft of the type NAMC YS -11 supplemented as of 1971 the fleet. In 1972 Bouraq received its first Hawker Siddeley HS 748 This type of aircraft was found to be optimal for the needs of society and was used until 2001. In 1973 Bouraq founded the subsidiary Nusantara Air Service, with the machines of the Britten- Norman Islander led by a regional air traffic in 1974 under the name Air Bali. From November 1978 Bouraq sat briefly on two leased jet aircraft of type Boeing 707. From 1993, supplemented used Boeing 737-200 fleet. With Philippine Airlines was a close cooperation.

Bouraq Indonesia Airlines had to cease flying in July 2005 due to financial problems.

Objectives

The company flew in domestic scheduled air services from Jakarta to the islands of Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, Bali and Tenggara Islands. In international aviation Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and the Philippines were flown.
