Boussy, Haute-Savoie

Boussy is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Boussy is located on 443 m above sea level. M., near Rumilly, some 12 km west-southwest of the town of Annecy (air line). This former farm extends in the foothills on a ridge on the eastern side of the valley of the Chéran, in the trough of Rumilly, in Albanais.

The area of ​​5.23 km ² municipal area comprises a portion of Albanais. The western and southern border runs along the course of the Chéran ( left tributary of the Fier ). The Chéran flows from southeast to northwest and enters at Boussy into the wide basin of Rumilly. In the far south of the municipality bottom of the river is still slightly cut into the surrounding plateau; west of the village, however, begins a broad, padded with alluvial valley floor. From Chéran, the municipality's area covers northeast on the adjacent slopes, which are divided by small valleys of several tributaries. With 567 m above sea level. M. is above the castle Mieudry reached the highest elevation of Boussy.

Attractions

The village church of Saint- Maurice was built in 1884. The municipal area, the Château de Mieudry, the mansions of Lupigny and Marlioz and two old mills are located to the side streams of Chéran.

Population

With 503 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Boussy one of the small towns in the Haute-Savoie region. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the population steadily increased due to high levels of emigration from (1876 were still in Boussy counted 466 inhabitants). Since the early 1980s, however, a significant increase in population was recorded again.

Economy and infrastructure
