Bowling, West Dunbartonshire

Bowling is a village in the Scottish unitary authority in West Dunbartonshire. It is located about five kilometers east-southeast of Dumbarton and 16 km north- west of the center of Glasgow on the north bank of the Firth of Clyde and the foot of the Kilpatrick Hills.

In bowling, there was in the 18th century mills and a brewery. 1790 had the opening of the Forth and Clyde Canal, whose endpoint is bowling, positive effect on the development of the town from. In the early 19th century port facilities have been set up and established a steam boat connection to Lochgilphead. Bowling was also the location of the major whiskey distillery Littlemill. It was founded in 1772 and closed in 1992.
