Boytronic is a German synthpop band whose biggest hit, the debut single You, 1983 # 10 in the German Charts.

Biography

The band was founded in 1983 by Holger Wobker and Peter Sawatzki in Hamburg. Similar to camouflage or their idols Depeche Mode in the early years, even Boytronic is a band that has become quite the electronic synth pop prescribed. The album The Working Model from 1983 is one of the most commercially successful albums of the genre in the 1980s. The most well-known single from the band 's You and was published in 1983.

In 1985 the second album, The Continental. Particularly noteworthy is the cooperation with the then very fashionable producer Bobby Orlando was (which is primarily known for its Hi- NRG productions Divine is ). Appeared in 1988 under the band name Boytronic the album Love for Sale. The singles Do not Let Me Down, Love for Sale, Tears and I Will Survive were Docked ( cover version of Gloria Gaynor - song ). In all these publications, however, it is not the original line-up, but an artificially generated by the record company project with other musicians. They got the name recognition of the name Boytronic to benefit, so as to encourage existing fans of the band to record purchases. Holger Wobker disappeared in the nineties completely from the music scene. He went on for some years in a monastery to Asia to find there to himself. End of the 1990s, Wobker the music turned up again. He met with his old bandmates Peter Sawatzki to participate in a new Boytronic album, this time back to the original cast to return to work. In early 2000 thought Hayo Lewerentz (aka Hayo Panarinfo ), one of the heads of the second band project was then that it was time to bring Boytronic out of the woodwork. The result was the 2002 published comeback CD Car Tunes.

In 2003, the album The Working Model ( from 1983 ) was re-released in a revised version. It contains the title of the original album plus eight bonus tracks. Followed in 2004, the double album with all MAXI Maxi - single releases (12 " singles ) in the 1980s and some new tracks., The 1986 album The Continental was also re-released in 2005 and includes four bonus tracks.

Hayo Lewerentz left the band in 2005 to care more about his label Major Records. The band was expanded to include two new members, Hans Michael and Maria Johm Ziffels. In November 2006, the album was released dependance. It remained commercially fell short of expectations and flopped. Shortly thereafter, there was dispute over the future musical direction, which led to the re-separation of the band.
