Braathens Regional ( until early 2013 Golden Air ) is a Swedish regional airline based in Trollhättan and a subsidiary of the shipping company Erik Thun AB.

History

The Company was incorporated under the name of Golden Air on 16 July 1993 and started operations on 15 August 1993. In January 2013, the company changed its name to Braathens Regional.

Destinations

Braathens Regional offers mainly from Stockholm-Bromma Airport to from flights to many domestic destinations such as Sundsvall, Halmstad and Visby as well as to Brussels. Some routes are also operated on behalf of smaller regional airlines such as Gotlandsflyg.

As of July 2013, the fleet of 17 aircraft consists of Braathens Regional: with an average age of 13.9 years

  • 05 ATR 72-500 (2 each operated for Kullaflyg and Scandinavian Airlines )
  • 12 Saab 2000 (4 operated for Scandinavian Airlines, two coasts for Hoga Flyg, 1 for Blekingeflyg, 1 decommissioned)
  • 01 Saab 340B

Braathens Regional is currently the world 's largest operator of the Saab 2000.
