Band History

Lacey, Lane and Tierney were members of the band The Rookie Lot, along with Brandon Reilly (The Movielife ). After the line-up changed a few times, came in 2000 added Vinnie Accardi and Brand New was founded. After the uptake and release their own 4- track EP, the group began to tour around Long Iceland. It increased their popularity through support of known bands such as New Found Glory.

Published in 2001, their first album called Brand New Your Favorite Weapon, shortly after the release of two songs on a split EP with Safety in Numbers. In 2003, a limited edition of "The Holiday EP" as well as their second album Deja Entendu. The band went through a strong development from their first to their second album. While Your Favorite Weapon still strong sounds like pop-punk, Deja Entendu acts more mature, both musically and especially lyrically.

In 2006, Brand New release their third album The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me This makes the development of the band even more clearly than Deja Entendu. The style of the album is again considerably darker and more mature and shows that Brand New no pop- punk band is more. The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me was selected by the Visions for record of the year 2007.

Jesse Lacey was very good friends with the songwriter and guitarist of the band Taking Back Sunday, John Nolan, who was temporarily a member of the band Straylight Run. The two fell out when Lacey's girlfriend cheated on him with Nolan. The songs " Seventy Times Seven " by Brand New and "There 's No I In Team" by Taking Back Sunday act of this dispute.
