Taking Back Sunday

Taking Back Sunday is an existing 1999 U.S. alternative rock band.

Band History

Taking Back Sunday were launched in 1999 with Antonio Garcia ( vocals), Jesse Lacey (bass, vocals), Eddie Reyes ( guitar), John Nolan (guitar, vocals, keyboards) and Steven DeJoseph (drums) in Long Iceland, and took almost 2001 in this formation ( Steven DeJospeh left the band during the recording, however, is to listen to the song "Summer Stars" and " Go On " ) is a 6 -track demo. Few time later, Antonio Garcia was kicked out of the band and Jesse Lacey left the band after his girlfriend cheated on him with John Nolan. Adam Lazzara took over the vocals and Shaun Cooper bass. In this formation they came to Victory Records and released on 26 March 2002 their first album, Tell All Your Friends.

Shortly after the band was about to stop, because John Nolan and Shaun Cooper separated from the band and the band Straylight Run turned towards. Fortunately, the band got a short time later growth in the form of Fred Mascherino, who until then had played in the friendly band Breaking Pangaea. With bassist Matt Rubano, a childhood friend of Marc O'Connell, they recorded their second album in 2004 Where You Want to Be, with whom they had greater success. The single " A Decade Under the Influence " was up in the U.S. radio and music TV stations played over and over. It reached # 3 in the U.S. Billboard charts.

In 2005, Taking Back Sunday took the third album, Louder Now, in which she collaborated with Eric Valentine as producers. For this album, they switched to the major label Warner Brothers Records. It was released on 25 April 2006 and differs from the sound of her heavily from the two predecessors, but was commercially more successful than this.

On 4 October 2007 the band announced that the paths of guitarist and songwriter Fred Mascherino and the rest of the band separated because Mascherino intended to pursue a solo career. The recordings for the 2009 released album New Again found thus place without him. As a substitute Matt Fazzi was presented.

In early 2010, Matt Fazzi and Matt Rubano announced that they had left the band and John Nolan and Shaun Cooper had joined the group. Thus, there was a return to the formation of the first album Tell All Your Friends. On 24 June 2011 the fifth album Taking Back Sunday appeared.

Style

Stylistically, the band plays snappy, catchy alternative rock, with some elements of indie rock can be heard. Furthermore, can be found in her style partly a variety of louder and quieter parts. Lyrically, often separations or painful experiences are processed in their songs, which sometimes leads to exaggerated emotional statements. Some also can be identified by some influences from melodic hardcore and emocore.

In most of her songs two voices are heard, that can elapse in dialogue form their views of a situation together.
