Straylight Run

Straylight Run is an indie rock band from Baldwin, a hamlet in the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County (New York State ), which was founded in 2003 by John Nolan and Shaun Cooper, two former members of Taking Back Sunday.

After they had fulfilled their contractual obligations relating to Victory Records with the release of Prepare To Be Wrong EP, they switched to Universal Republic Records. On 3 June 2008, the band announced on their MySpace page that the pianist and singer Michelle DaRosa second left the band in order to take care of her solo career.

In June 2008, Straylight Run went back into the studio to record the shots for the next EP named Un Mas Dos. On 16 September 2008, the EP was released in digital format.

The band announced in February 2010 that she would take a break of indefinite length. They did not rule out that they would work together again sometime. John Nolan and Shaun Cooper are meanwhile however, their former band Taking Back Sunday joined.

The band's name is taken from a chapter of William Gibson's Neuromancer book.
