Brandon Mashinter

Brandon Mashinter (* 20 September 1988 in Bradford, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since December 2013 for the Chicago Black Hawks in the National Hockey League under contract on their farm team, the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League on the playing position of the center.

Career

Mashinter began his junior career at the age of 16 years in the 2004/05 season at the Thornhill Thunderbirds in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League, a second-rate league in Association of Canadian Hockey League. The previous year, he had played a game for the Thornhill Islanders Major in the same league. In the course of the season 2004/ 05 the striker for the Sarnia Sting in the Ontario Hockey League was used. Overall, he played eight games for the Sting and 49 for the Thunderbirds. To the Game 2005 /06 changed Mashinter permanently to Sarnia. In two years, he played 120 games for the Sting, where he recorded 13 goals and nine assists. The season 2007/ 08 spent Mashinter at Premier League rivals Kitchener Rangers, after he was transferred there in the summer. With the Rangers, the versatile attacker completed a good season. He reached in the regular season 20 points scorer in the playoffs and eventually won the J. Ross Robertson Cup, for which he contributed a further four points. The following season, in only 52 games his statistically most successful should be at junior level with 58 points, he joined the Rangers. In December 2008, however, he was released to the Belleville Bulls. There he finished the season.

In March 2009, the ungedraftete Mashinter of the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League was signed. After participating in the training camp of the team in September 2009, he found himself in the following month's farm team, the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League, again. There he spent a successful first season at senior level. With 22 goals, he was one of the most accurate Sharks players. His good performances, he also in the season of 2010/11 took into, finally, to the fact that he made his debut in the NHL San Jose on December 29, 2010 resulted.

After completion of the NHL lockout in January 2013, the San Jose Sharks transferred him in exchange for Tommy Grant and a performance-based franchise in the NHL Entry Draft in 2014 to the New York Rangers, the beorderten the striker to their AHL farm team, the Hartford Wolf Pack, .
