Brenda Marshall

Brenda Marshall ( born September 29, 1915 in Negros, Philippines, † July 30, 1992 in Palm Springs, California; actually Ardis Ankerson Gaines ) was an American actress.

Life

Brenda Marshall in 1939 had her first film appearance in Hollywood. Her most famous screen appearance was in The Lord of the Seven Seas from 1940 as a partner of Errol Flynn. It replaced in this film Olivia de Havilland, who was usually Flynn's partner, but did not want to stand in the shadow of the former superstars of American film.

1941 married Brenda Marshall the actor William Holden. After 1943, she only appeared in three films until 1950 and then retired into private life. With Holden she was married until 1971. The marriage ended in divorce after numerous affairs Holdens. The marriage produced two children emerged.
