Brian Percival

Brian S. Percival (born 1962 in Liverpool ) is an English director who for Downton Abbey in 2011 Primetime Emmy winning and recently with The Book Thief was a cinema director.

Career

1973 to 1980 he visited New Heys Comprehensive School. About his beginnings are not much information available, only with About a Girl (9 minutes), the 2001 Short Film BAFTA winning, he came into the limelight. He worked the next decade for British television, for example, turned the telefilms Pleasure (2003 ) for Channel 4, North & South (2004), The Ruby in the Smoke ( 2006), The Old Curiosity Shop ( Old Curiosity Shop) (2007) and Gracie! (2009), but he was only really known with the television series Downton Abbey, for his work he was awarded a so-called "Craft Award" BAFTA and EMMY one. A Boy Called Dad 2009 was his first feature film, but had a mini budget. Only after his distinctions, he was 2013 release with the film adaptation of The Book Thief Markus Zusaks with Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson his first big commercial movie.
