Brian Williams

Brian Douglas Williams ( born May 5, 1959 in Elmira (New York)) is an American television journalist. Since 2004 he is the successor to Tom Brokaw as moderator of NBC Nightly News. Until then, Williams chief correspondent of NBC was the White House and presented The News with Brian Williams on CNBC and MSNBC. In 2007, Time Magazine Williams was one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

For an internship in the administration of Jimmy Carter Williams broke off his studies. Meanwhile, he has received honorary doctorates from several universities.

He lives in New Canaan (Connecticut) with his wife, Jane Stoddard Williams. The couple has two children.
