British League Cup

The British League Cup was a 1902 material discharged in Glasgow football tournament between the top two finishers of the (English) Football League and the Scottish Football League. The competition was held for the benefit of the survivors of the Ibrox disaster, in which 25 people were killed in April 1902. The Glasgow Rangers presented the trophy that they had won a year earlier at the Glasgow Exhibition Cup, as the tournament price. From England the AFC Sunderland and Everton took part, the Scottish representatives were the two capital clubs Celtic and Rangers. Celtic won the final by three goals from Jimmy Quinn 3-2 after extra time against the Rangers and retaliated so for the last year 's defeat in the Exhibition Cup. The trophy is still located in the trophy cabinet of the Celts.

Semifinal

The team of Sunderland AFC consisted of ten Scots, only Billy Hogg was an Englishman.

In replay between Everton and Rangers were not available because of a international match between England and Scotland on the part of the Rangers Jock Drummond, John Tait Robertson, Alex Smith and Nicol Smith, Everton had to do without because of the international match on Jimmy Settle.
