Trivia

At the award ceremony of the Railway Forum Innovation Awards 2008 in London manufacturers and operators of Class 185 were recognized for their environmental friendliness. Because thanks to a special technique that allows a shutdown of individual diesel engines at slow rides, can be saved per train kilometer and up to seven percent less fuel. Extrapolated to the entire fleet can thus be avoided over ten tons of carbon dioxide per day.
