Brniště
Brniště ( German Brims ) is a municipality of Okres Ceska Lipa in the Liberec Region in the north of the Czech Republic on the southern slope of the Lusatian Mountains. It lies about 13 kilometers northeast of Ceska Lipa ( Czech Lipa ) and from 591 m high mountain Tlustec ( Tölzberg ) dominates.
History
The settlement was first mentioned in 1352. At the end of the 18th century a stone bridge over the creek Panenský ( Virgin Bach) was built. In the northern part of the village is a protected lime is with a trunk circumference of six meters.
Community structure
The municipality consists of the villages Brniště Brniště ( Brims ), Hlemýždí ( Schneckendorf ), Jáchymov (Joachim village), Luhov ( Luh ), Nový Luhov ( Neuluh ) and Velky Grunov ( United Grunau ).
The municipality is divided into the Katastralbezirke Brniště, Hlemýždí, Luhov u Mimoně and Velky Grunov.
