The Broad back Rivière (English Broad Back River ) is a river in northern Quebec, Canada.

It flows into the Rupert Bay ( a small bay at the southern end of James Bay), a short distance south of the Rupert estuary and there neighborhood of Frankfurt Cree settlement Waskaganish. The largest lake on the river of Broad back is the Lac Evans.

The Rivière Broad back - along with the Rivière Nottaway and the Rivière Rupert - were originally intended for hydraulic engineering development and its redirection as part of the James Bay hydroelectric project.
