Broadwood is a small town about 25 km north of the northern shore of the Hokianga Harbour in the Far North District of Northland Region in the North Island of New Zealand. Herekino located 21 km to the west, Mangamuka Bridge is located at the same distance east.

The area of Broadwood was settled in the 188er years by the Europeans and built an access road from Takahue after Motukaraka the Hokianga Harbour. A dirt road through Te Karae Valley to Kohukohu was 1908.

Education

The Broadwood Area School is a composite school for grades 1-15 with a decile rating of 1 in 2009 had 135 students. A state-supported school had already existed in Broadwood 1895-1904. The present school was founded in 1908. It was 1952 District High School, 1973, she was awarded the status of an Area School.
