Brumovice (Břeclav District)

Brumovice ( German Brumowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south-east of Klobouky u Brna and belongs to Okres Břeclav.

Geography

Brumovice is located in the southwestern foothills of the Steinitzer forest ( Ždánický ) in the Boleradická Highlands. The village stretches between the valleys of the Haraska and Trkmanka. In the broad boiler east of Brumovice the Haraska and Spálený unite creek with the Trkmanka, there was located the Kobyler Lake ( Jezero Kobylské ). On the northern outskirts of the pond Balaton is located. North-east rises the Stádliska (204 m ) in the east Svetla (278 m) and the Karlak (281 m), southeast the Kobylská skala (264 m), in the south of Kobylí vrch (334 m ) southwest of the Hotařský Kopec ( 239 m) and the Ochozy (319 m) ​​and in the northwest the Harasky ( Harras mountain, 278 m) and Plunary (336 m). Two kilometers south runs the railway line Zaječí - Hodonín, there is also the station Brumovice. Near the village there are extensive vineyards.

History

The village was established during the German colonization by Bishop Bruno of castle in the middle of the 13th century and is named after him. It was first mentioned in writing in 1250, when Margrave Ottokar Přemysl the village gave the Kuna Zbraslav and Kunštát. During the Hussite Wars, the Lords of Bludov acquired the goods. During this time there was a Czech resettlement of the village. Since 1478 in Brumovice a parish proven. Brumovice was connected in the second half of the 16th century to the reign Göding. 1637 fell kuruc in Brumovice, while they burned down the church.
