Brunswick–Bad Harzburg railway

The railway Brunswick- Bad Harzburg is a 47 km long main railway Deutsche Bahn AG in the northern foreland of the Harz.

History

Opened on December 1, 1838 section of Brunswick Wolfenbüttel was the first state railway in Germany, she combined the two most important cities in the former duchy. It was 1841 and Schladen Vienenburg in today's Bad Harzburg (then "New Town" ) extended. The slope-intercept Vienenburg -Bad Harzburg was operated until 1843 as a horse-drawn railway. In 1866 the branch line Vienenburg - Goslar, the first rail connections to the city at that time Hanoverian connected.

Operation

The railway track is not electrified and double track north of Vienenburg. It belongs to the " Harz -Weser- network " and you want to program in the future from an electronic signal box in Göttingen.
