Buchlov

The Buchlov ( German Buchlau ) is one of the oldest surviving castles in the Czech Republic. It is Stupava in Mars Mountains.

History

The Buchlov castle is situated on a 520 m high lookout near Buchlovice. It was probably created as a strategic fortress in 1250 by the Czech king and also served as an administrative and hunting lodge. First written in 1300 Viscount Protiv of Buchlov. The oldest part of the castle is the storm tower with thick walls. It links to the residential complex joins, which is connected to another tower. In the 15th century, the lords of Zahradka could build the north wing. The next deposit Men were the masters of Cimburg that could create the great knight's hall.

The 1520-1544 ruling lords of the castle Zerotin united rule with the rule Buchlov Buchlovice. The next owner Johann Zdansky of Zástřizl prompted a modification in the Renaissance style and established an art collection. After the extinction of Zdansky Zástřizl of the castle in 1644 fell to Messrs. Peter forest of Peter forest. They did fix the castle and built the baroque gates. In 1701 they settled into the newly built castle Buchlovice. The castle rule Buchlov went in 1763 with the reign Buchlovice in the possession of the Counts of Berchtold, who remained the owners until 1945.

After the castle had lost its protective function, the culturally engaged Count Berchtold focused on the interior design and equipped the rooms with natural science and exotic collections that they have already made available to the public in 1850. Also worth seeing is the late Gothic Knights Hall. In good conditions, the tower offers a panoramic view over lower Moravia.

Lowczowe prawo

By 1748 the castle had the blood jurisdiction. The Lowczowe prawo (hunting dish) consisted of the twelve Erbjägern of Stříbrnice, three council men from Polešovice, Boršice and Buchlovice as well as two Ratleiten from Tupesy and Zlechov. The Chair ( Starosta ) exercised always one of the Stříbrnicer hunters. At the meetings, some councilors were also loaded from Uherské Hradiště. The court were under the localities Babice, Boršice, Břestek, Buchlovice, Dolni Moštěnice, Domanín, Hýsly, Jalubí, Ježov, Kostelec, Labuty, Lhota, Medlovice, Moravany, Osvetimany, Polešovice, Roštín, Skalka, Traplice, Tucapy, Tupesy, Újezdec, Vážany, Vřesovice, Žádovice, Žeravice, Zlámanec and Zlechov.
