Band History

The musicians who the band Buck -O -Nine founded in 1991, had very different musical backgrounds, such as punk, metal, reggae and ska. This also had an impact on the music of the group that did not want to pay the prevailing grunge, but its own style of ska itself. Role models for their music were The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Operation Ivy and the Voodoo Glow Skulls.

After a first demo tape in 1992 and the debut album " Songs in the Key of Bree " (1994), it undertook the label " Immune Records ," in which she signed a contract for two years. After this time they switched to " Taang! Records " label, in which the " Mighty Mighty Bosstones " had a contract.

After the album " Barfly " (1995) followed by a period of touring that brought the band to Japan. The tape was played frequently on the radio and got that way a contract with a major label: " TVT Records ". In 1997 she published there with " 28 Teeth" their third album.

The period up to 1999 was marked by several changes in the cast. Furthermore, let " TVT Records " the band after the fourth album " libido " (1999) fall again. The band released their next album so " Hellos and Goodbyes " ( also 1999) on the label of their singer, Jon Pebsworth out.

Since the sixth album " On A Mission " of 2001, the band at live performances around the globe, but especially in the United States focused.

In early 2007 the band began recording a new album which was released in the same summer under the title " Sustain."
