Budeč (Jindřichův Hradec District)

Budeč (in Czech until 1925: Buč; German Butsch ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic with 230 inhabitants. It is eleven kilometers east of Dačice in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

The Moravian village Budeč is located on the right bank of the fishpond fed by the Želetavka Budečský.

Neighboring towns are Bohusoudov in the north, Knínice in the northeast, Radkovice u Budče in the east, Borová, Lomy and Chotěbudice in the south and Vesce and Horni Slatina in the West.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1251 as a possession of the brothers Wernhardt and Ulrich von Budeč. Until 1520, the Lords of Budeč kept the place, then sold Jindřich Bořita of Budeč place, festivals and the deserted village Rabstein to Jindřich Koňařov of Vydří. In this purchase for the first time the fortress was detectable.

After Anna Marie Dubská had in 1662 sold by the Třebomyslice to the monastery Louka, the celebrations in the second half of the 17th century was converted into a baroque castle. After the secularization of the monastery Budeč was from 1784 the central government sector and five years later sold to Joseph Wallis, Freiherr von Carighmain who slammed the goods of his reign Moravian Budwitz.

1788 the new settlement was founded Rabstein. 1793 had 303 inhabitants of the village. In 1812, Anton von Beck, one of the sons of the inn Beck was born, whose son was Max Wladimir von Beck Austrian Prime Minister. In 1850, 527 people lived in Buč.

By 1925, the Barons of Wallis Carighmain owned the castle, then it went into the possession of Countess Anna Schaffgotsch. The name of the village was changed in 1925 by Buč Budeč in 1951 was renamed the local part Rabštýn in Borová. 1970 Horni Slatina was incorporated.

The municipality consists of the villages Budeč Budeč ( Butsch ) and Borová ( until 1951: Rabštýn, German Rabstein ).
