Budget Rent a Car is one of Morris Mirkin founded in 1958 in Los Angeles, California car rental companies. The name was chosen to associate in order that the landlord is based on his client's budget.

History

A relative of Mirkin, Jules Lederer, in 1959 founded a leasing company and supported Mirkin build the fleet of rental cars. The headquarters moved in 1960 to enable Chicago, Illinois and began to expand nationally and internationally. Budget was sold to Transamerica Corporation and sold by this in 1986 to investors.
