Budiš

Budiš ( Budisch German, Hungarian Turócborkút - to 1907 Budis ) is a municipality in Okres Turčianské Teplice within the Žilinský in Slovakia, with about 200 inhabitants.

The place is located in the southwest of the traditional landscape Turz at the foot of Žiar mountains by the brook Jasenica, which empties into the river Turcianska after a few kilometers. Budiš is off the main road 519 and 11 kilometers from Turčianské Teplice, 21 km from Prievidza and 30 kilometers away from Martin.

Budiš was founded in the early 16th century by the Vlachs, but left again after some time and only revived in 1563. It was owned by the families Horváth and Rakovský, had a mill and a saw and the people concerned with forestry and crafts.

Since 1964 by the local sources, the mineral water is bottled Budiš in a bottling plant.
