Bulat Zhumadilov

Bolat Schumadilow (Cyrillic Болат Жумадилов; born April 22, 1973 at Zhambyl area ) is a Kazakh boxer.

Career

Schumadilow could place at three consecutive Amateur World Championships in the medals: In 1995 he was in Berlin Second flyweight, he lost the final battle against Zoltan Lunka. At the World Championships in Budapest in 1997, he took a third place, but eventually won at the 1999 Championships in Houston still the world title.

At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and the 2000 Olympics in Sydney he won a silver medal in the flyweight. In 1996, he lost the final against Cuban Maikro Romero just 11-12 on points after the semi-final against Zoltan Lunka he had been able to prevail. At the games in 2000, he defeated in the quarterfinals of the later professional world champion Vic Darchinyan of Armenia, in the final battle he lost to the Thais Wijan Ponlid.

In addition Schumadilow won the Asia Cup 1994 in the light flyweight (-48 kg) and 1995 flyweight (-51 kg) during his career. In 1999 he won the bronze medal of the Asian Games.
