Bullas (DO)

Bullas is a wine region with denomination of origin (DO since 1994) in the geographical center of the region of Murcia with the place Bullas as the main growing region in Spain. The area under vines is approximately 5,500 acres; important variety is the red Monastrell with a Antel of almost 80 %.

The average altitude of the vineyards located between 400 and 900 m, the climate is Mediterranean with an average rainfall of 450 mm.

Properties

  • Red wines, 12 to 14 % (vol). The statutory minimum percentage of the variety Monastrell is 60 %. In the blended wines of Tempranillo, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Petit Verdot may be included.
  • Rosé wines from 11 am to 12.5% ​​(vol). They are made from the same grape varieties as the reds pressed. Even with the roses Monastrell is the leading variety
  • White wines from 10 to 12.5% ​​(vol). Macabeo and Airen are the main varieties and may order the grape varieties Muscat, Muscat d' Alexandrie and Sauvignon Blanc are complemented.
