Bundesverband Öffentlicher Banken Deutschlands

The Federal Association of German Public Sector Banks, VÖB, is an umbrella organization of the German banking industry. It represents 62 member institutions, including the regional banks and the federal and state development banks owned. With four other credit industry leading associations of VÖB The German banking industry is working in association. The Association is based in Berlin. The VÖB has the legal form of a registered association.

Functions of the Association

Task of VÖB is to represent the common economic and ideological interests of its members in all credit- economic issues, promote cooperation between its member banks and to support them in fulfilling their duties. The VÖB advocates the interests of its members in relation to the legislative bodies of the federal and state governments, the supervisory and regulatory authorities at national and international level as well as the media and the public. The VÖB is accredited by the German Parliament, the European Parliament and the EU Commission. The association is a member of the European Association of Public Banks ( European Association of Public Banks, EAPB ), Brussels.

Board of Directors

The Association is governed by a ten -member board, which is headed by the elected by the General Assembly President. As a guest of the Board belongs to the respective President of the German Savings Banks and Giro Association (DSGV ). For the current business of the VÖB the Chief Executive is responsible, which is appointed by the Board and will be supported in their office by the Deputy General Manager and the Head of the Federation.

Employers' association

The VÖB exerts the only credit economic association of the function of an employers' association for all its member institutions and takes the true advocacy for its members. The VÖB advises its ordinary and extraordinary member institutions in all aspects of labor law and social security law in issues and inform them of the significant changes in legislation and case law. In addition, he represents the interests of its members to the legislative bodies as well as to governmental and administrative bodies. Ombudsman

As the first credit industry leading association VÖB the mediation role has been delegated in 2001 for its member institutions. The arbitration procedure is free for the customer. Ombudsman of the VÖB is Klaus Wangard.
