Bunnell is a city and also the county seat of Flagler County in the U.S. state of Florida with 2,676 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Bunnell is directly adjacent to the City of Palm Coast and is located approximately 90 km south of Jacksonville.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 2,676 inhabitants distributed to 1,354 households. The population density was 221.2 inh. / Km ². 63.1 % of the population were white, 31.9% African American, 0.6 % Native American and 0.3 % Asian Americans. 1.1% were members of other ethnic groups and 3.1% in different ethnic groups. 5.4% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 31.8 % of all households lived in 29.8 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 56.2 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.25 persons and the average family size is 2.95 people.

25.4% of the population were younger than 20 years, 24.3% were 20-39 years old, 25.8 % were 40-59 years old and 24.6 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 40 years. 48.0 % of the population were male and 52.0 % female.

The average annual income was $ 22,057, while 32.5 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 96.67 % of the population spoke Spanish and 3.33%.

Religions

In Bunnell, there are 18 different churches from 10 different denominations. Among the belonging to a denomination churches the Baptist church is best represented with six churches. There are no denominational church belonging ( as of 2004).

Traffic

Bunnell is crossed 11 and 20 from U.S. Highway 1 (SR 5) and the Florida State Roads. In addition, the freight railroad of the Florida East Coast Railway runs through the town. The nearest airport is Daytona Beach International Airport ( some 30 km south).

Crime

The crime rate in 2010 was 587 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) in the high range. There was a rape, six robberies, 41 injuries, 27 burglaries, 97 thefts and 33 car thefts.
