Palm Coast is a city in Flagler County in the U.S. state of Florida with 75 180 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Palm Coast is located on the Intracoastal Waterway in close to the coast of the Atlantic. The city is bordered to the west by the city of Bunnell, and lies about 60 km south of Jacksonville.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 75 180 inhabitants distributed in 35 058 households. The population density was 572.1 inh. / Km ². 79.9 % of the population were white, 12.7% African American, 0.3% Native American and 2.5 % Asian Americans. 2.1% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.5% in different ethnic groups. 10.0 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 39.7 % of all households lived in 29.2 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 73.0 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.51 persons and the average family size is 2.88 people.

23.6% of the population were younger than 20 years, 20.1% were 20-39 years old, 25.4% were 40-59 years old and 30.8 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 45 years. 47.8 % of the population were male and 52.2 % female.

The average annual income was $ 48,594, while 13.7 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 87.66 % of the population spoke Spanish 6.48% and 5.86% had a different mother tongue.

Traffic

The metropolitan area is from Interstate 95, U.S. Highway 1 (SR 5) and Florida State Road 100 crosses. In addition, the freight railroad of the Florida East Coast Railway is tangent to the city. The nearest airport is Daytona Beach International Airport ( some 35 km south).
