Bürg (crater)

The lunar crater guarantees is located in the center of the 150 km wide Lacus Mortis in the northeastern part of the lunar front side. It has high terraced walls and a pronounced double central peak.

Nearby on the southern edge of the Lacus Mortis are the Plana crater and the crater Mason.

East of Bürg runs in a southwesterly direction, the grooves of the system Rimae guarantees that even the edge of Lacus Mortis Wall breaks through at one point.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the Austrian astronomer Johann Tobias guarantees.
