Burgenland state election, 1996

The state elections in Burgenland was carried out on 2 June 1996 and was the 18th state election in the province of Burgenland. The Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ ) also gained a mandate from the People's Party and was the winner of the election was able to increase its share of the vote by 4.8 % and reached five mandates. The Greens Burgenland ( GREEN ) failed for the third time on the feeder in the state legislature, which even the Liberal Forum (LIF ) missed. Similarly, the FDP failed after 1991 again on entry into the state parliament, the party ran only in the constituencies 1-3. The citizens' initiative Burgenland ( BIB), with the exception of the electoral district of Neusiedl am See candidate in all constituencies did not reach a seat in Parliament.
