Burst (Band)

Burst was a Swedish progressive metal band from Kristinehamn, which was founded in 1993 under the name Dislars and dissolved in 2009.

History

The band was founded in 1993 under the name of singer Dislars Linus Jägerskog, guitarist Jonas Rydberg, bassist and drummer Jesper Liveröd Patrik Hultin. Initially they played simple Crustcore, grindcore and hardcore punk. However, the music in the course of time became more complex, so they changed their name to burst to underline this Convert yet. The band released two EPs, one of which was produced by Dan Swanö. The band also held concerts in Scandinavia together with other groups such Breach, Refused and Abhinanda. Thus, the band reached an agreement with Melon Records. With this label, the EP ShadowCaster appeared in 1996 and the debut album Two Faced in 1998 In 2000, the album Conquest appeared. Writhe on vinyl on Putrid Filth Conspiracy and on CD at Prank Records.

EP In Coveting Ways followed in 2002 Chrome Saint Magnus. The EP was recorded at Studio Fredman by Fredrik Nordström Fredrik Dahl and Pure. This was followed by a tour of Europe, as well as occasional appearances in Sweden and Norway. Then, work on the album Prey On Life began. The album was recorded again by Fredrik Dahl in his studio Pure Phlat Planet. In addition, burst reached a contract with Relapse Records, so the album was released in 2003. The band also held tours in UK, Europe and Scandinavia with bands like The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon, Poison the Well and alchemist. During these tours, the band was already writing new material. The album was recorded at Music Origo -a- Maticby headed by Fredrik Dahl and Henryk Lipp Pure. The album was released in 2005. 's Latest album Lazarus Bird appeared in 2008, before the group disbanded the following year.

Style

The band initially played simple Crustcore, grindcore and hardcore punk. Later, the band played progressive metal is described as a mix of Neurosis, Mastodon and Isis.
