Bushfire CRC

The Bushfire Cooperative Research Centre ( Bushfire CRC) is a research center in Australia, which is concerned with studies of the social, environmental and economic impact of bushfires. The CRC was The center is a member of the Cooperative Research Centres Association ( CRCA ) Founded in 2003 and has a small administrative office in the east of Melbourne; it is to operate until 2013 research and make findings available.

The research represents the fire and land management organizations in Australia and New Zealand, the Bureau of Meteorology, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation ( CISRO ), Attorney General's Department and organizations and industry to deal with the fire defense, science results and practical instructions on fire prevention and response available.

In research of this center knowledge of climate change, the impact of demographics and especially the experience and evaluation of the catastrophic bush fire in Victoria in 2009 with 173 victims are taken into account. The Bushfire CRC attaches great importance to teaching, knowledge transfer and cooperation with other institutions.
