The Biitzow station in the same city Biitzow in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern is served in local and long-distance transport. It lies on the railway line bath small -Rostock and is the starting point of the route to Szczecin.

Location and equipment

The railway station is 1.7 kilometers southeast of the city center near the Warnowtal along Route 11 runs north-east through the tracks bridged Biitzow - Güstrow channel on its last meters before the confluence with the river Warnow.

The representative station building was built in the Neo-Renaissance style in 1879. It has two two-storey corner towers and a single-story midsection with central projection. It lies west of the tracks. Track 1 is located directly on buildings, tracks 2 and 3 on a central platform, which is accessible by a pedestrian tunnel. Both platforms are covered. The train station is not accessible (as of 2009). To the east of the platforms there are other, not used for passenger transport railway tracks.

History

The Bützower Station began with the opening of the railway lines ( Bad ) Small -Rostock and the branch line to Güstrow on May 13, 1850 Operating on. Already by 1849 the first reception building, a roundhouse, a carriage house, a water house and two waiting homes were built. In clouds, a district of Biitzow, the diversion of the river fog was required. The first train, which had loaded railway sleepers and rails, sailed the station to great public interest on 26 November 1849. The railway line towards Güstrow was extended until 1864 to Neubrandenburg and until 1867 to Strasburg, which stresses the importance of the station increased as a transport hub. The construction of the Biitzow - Güstrow channel the conversion of Bützower railway facilities was required. The station was originally a wedge station, where the Guestrower route branched off towards the southeast of the way to little ones. Through the route reconstruction direct trips from Hamburg and Lübeck were possible to Güstrow and Szczecin. This relationship has developed over the years to 1945, the most important remote connection via the Biitzow station.

Once there were two mechanical interlockings, of which 1992 interlocking B was obtained, but only served to control the crossing barriers. Other functions were transferred to the 1970 was put into operation Bützower switchboard until 1972. 1986/87 the sections bath small - Schwaan and Biitzow - Güstrow were electrified.

After the political changes the facade of the station building has been restored. The building is for sale. With the establishment of modern platform displays the remaining service personnel were withdrawn from the station in May 2009. The visual and audible passenger information has since been controlled from Rostock.

In Biitzow there was one of the few buildings in the Upper Deutsche Reichsbahn. Its extensive facilities are located on the tracks in the direction of Bad kids. Today there is the rail center Biitzow settled.
