C. Henry Gordon

C. Henry Gordon ( born June 17, 1883 in New York City as Henry Racke, † December 3, 1940 in Los Angeles ) was an American actor.

C. Henry Gordon grew up as the son of German-born parents in the U.S., Germany and Switzerland. First, he had a silver mine in New Mexico, however, with which he had no success, so he became an actor. Gordon worked in the 1920s on Broadway as a theater actor before he made his film debut at the age of 47 years. Between 1930-1940 Gordon played in 80 films. His breakthrough as a character actor, he creates the appearance Scarface. He often portrayed villains as well as the title role in the film The Betrayal of Surat Khan with Errol Flynn. At the age of 57 years Gordon, who had worked until recently as an actor, died from the effects of a leg amputation.
