Caçapa

Caçapa (* May 29, 1976 in Lavra, Brazil; civil Claudio Roberto da Silva ) is a Brazilian footballer. Since 5 October 2006, he has next to the Brazilian and French citizenship.

Career

The central defender Caçapa began his professional career in 1997 with Atlético Mineiro in Brazil. Until his move to Europe during the winter break 2000/ 01 he played 68 games in the first Brazilian league, where he scored two goals. After that, he came to France to Lyon, where he had his first appearance at the Division 1 match against Toulouse FC on 17 February 2001. For Lyon Caçapa played 125 Ligue 1 bets, in which he scored seven goals, to a total of 18 games in the domestic cup competitions. In the European Cup he was 29 times the level (of which 27 appearances in the UEFA Champions League and two in the UEFA Cup ), but still did not score. In summer 2007, he moved free transfer to Premier League club Newcastle United.
